At PubCo, we value your trust and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data collected through the PubCo mobile app, membership program, and website (pubconnect.com.au). It applies only to the membership service and app, not to the businesses that operate PubCo venues.

We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) when handling your personal information.

Scope of this Policy

This Privacy Policy covers:

  • the PubCo mobile app (Apple App Store & Google Play),
  • the PubCo digital membership card and rewards system, and
  • the PubCo website and related communications.

By using these services, you agree to the handling of your information as set out below.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Membership details – your name, contact information, account credentials, and membership preferences.
  • Digital membership card data – information linked to your virtual membership card, including usage and redemption history.
  • Rewards and points – records of points, balances, and offers you earn or redeem through your membership. Points may accrue from purchases or promotional activity. Points may expire or be forfeited under our Terms & Conditions – available in the PubCo app and the Terms & Conditions page of our website.
  • Location data – the PubCo app collects location data to reward members for visiting participating venues, even when the app is closed or not in use. You can disable location services in your device settings at any time.
  • Self-exclusion status – where requested, records of members who have opted for self-exclusion. This information is treated as highly confidential and accessible only to authorised PubCo management and relevant venue staff for compliance and safety purposes.
  • Technical data – device identifiers, IP addresses, operating system details, app version, diagnostic logs, and browsing or usage patterns.
  • Communications – emails, app messages, feedback, or enquiries you send us.
  • Participation data – surveys, competitions, promotions, or events you engage in.

We do not collect health, racial, religious, or other sensitive information as defined under the Privacy Act.

How We Collect Information

We may gather personal information when you:

  • register for a PubCo membership,
  • use the app or website features,
  • scan or present your digital membership card,
  • accrue or redeem points or offers,
  • interact with our communications (email, SMS, push notifications),
  • visit our website (which uses cookies and tracking technologies),
  • connect with us on social media, or
  • complete a survey, provide feedback, or join a promotion.

How We May Use Your Information

PubCo may use your information for purposes including:

  • managing your membership and digital card,
  • tracking and rewarding participation with points and offers,
  • personalising services, offers, and communications,
  • processing self-exclusion requests and ensuring they are respected,
  • responding to enquiries and feedback,
  • improving the app, website, and rewards program,
  • conducting promotions, surveys, and research,
  • sending service updates and marketing (if you’ve opted in),
  • ensuring compliance with applicable laws, and
  • preventing and investigating fraud or unauthorised use of accounts.

Self-Exclusion and Responsible Use

PubCo recognises the importance of responsible membership. If you request self-exclusion, your status will be:

  • treated as strictly confidential,
  • viewable only by authorised PubCo management and relevant venue staff, and
  • respected and enforced across PubCo venues.

The PubCo website and app use cookies and similar tools to:

Accessing or Updating Your Information

If you wish to opt out of the PubCo membership service or have your information removed, please contact us and we will process your request promptly, subject to legal obligations.

Age Restriction

PubCo membership is strictly for individuals aged 18 years or over. Persons under 18 cannot register for a PubCo membership. If we become aware of a membership created by someone under 18, we will promptly cancel it and remove associated information.

Protecting Your Information

We use reasonable security measures to safeguard personal information from misuse, interference, or unauthorised access. While no system is 100% secure, we continually review our safeguards to protect your data.
